During the celebration of Biniam Girmay’s victory, young Eritreans’ overwhelming joy and enthusiasm were evident. Biniam’s success, a testament to his hard work and talent, is not connected to the Eritrean government. Recruited by the World Cycling Center (WCC) in Rwanda, trained in Switzerland, and joined various clubs, Biniam’s achievements stem from external support.

Why can’t the WCC recruit cyclists in Asmara, where many champion cyclists reside? The alleged reasons include visa restrictions and the government’s negative attitude towards such initiatives. It’s not just the WCC; many organizations face obstacles when contributing to Eritrea’s development. These entities are often labeled as spies or accused of misleading the youth, a common tactic used by arrogant and ignorant officials.

An incident involving an Indian man taking a selfie in Asmara highlights the country’s lawlessness and lack of a constitution. In a place with proper legal systems, the harasser would have been jailed. Such behavior deters tourism and economic growth. Ill-informed compatriots, believing they are doing the right thing, harm the country’s prospects. This is not indicative of the general hospitality of Eritreans but rather the actions of government stooges acting on behalf of imbecile authorities to harass visitors.

How can a single person block the common benefits of society? Tourism brings hard currency and community benefits. Yet, some individuals assume responsibility for everything, even beyond their expertise, hindering national progress and prosperity. This behavior drags Eritrea below the common sense of mankind.

Another observation during Biniam’s victory celebration was the lack of basic amenities like electricity, water, and internet. People watched the Tour de France in open-air locations, deprived of essential services, and living in conditions akin to slavery. Government supporters, mostly abroad enjoying Western democracy, fail to realize they have been misled for years about infrastructure developments like dams, electricity, and internet services. Their emotional loyalty, rather than informed understanding, perpetuates the suffering.

Currently, there are rumors that the Eritrean government plans to form an international cycling club to help Eritrean cyclists compete globally. However, given the government’s track record, this is likely another opportunity for exploitation. Their extreme, uneducated greed and tendency to profit from others’ creations rather than their initiatives are common. They manipulate investors, loot proposals, and ultimately take over investments. They fail to realize that their unethical performance harms future investments in the country, discouraging potential investors due to misguided policies and unethical practices.

While forming a club could be beneficial, the government’s mismanagement and greed will likely lead to the exploitation and eventual departure of athletes. Instead of addressing management issues, they will continue to recruit new members in a futile attempt to make money, showcasing poor leadership skills. Their plans are doomed to fail, as their intentions are not genuinely aimed at progress but at personal gain.

Pourquoi le CMC ne peut-il pas recruter des cyclistes à Asmara, où résident de nombreux champions? Les restrictions de visa et l’attitude négative du gouvernement envers de telles initiatives en sont les raisons alléguées. Ce n’est pas seulement le CMC; de nombreuses organisations rencontrent des obstacles lorsqu’elles tentent de contribuer au développement de l’Érythrée. Ces entités sont souvent étiquetées comme des espions ou accusées de tromper les jeunes et de les amener à faire de mauvaises actions, une tactique courante des officiels arrogants et ignorants d’Érythrée.
